Several major changes in road projects will take place at midweek. Here is the details:

  • Parkway West – Several traffic restrictions that have been in place this construction season will be removed over the next few days between the Ridge Road and Interstate 79 interchanges in in Collier and Robinson, Allegheny County, a month sooner than expected. Crews will remove median barriers on the ramp from outbound Parkway West to Campbells Run Road by 5 a.m. Wednesday and the ramp from Boyce Road to the inbound Parkway West will reopen at 5 a.m. Saturday. Additionally, the outbound Parkway West will return to a normal traffic pattern by 5 a.m. Wednesday, and inbound traffic will return to normal by 5 a.m. Saturday between Ridge Road and I-79. Traffic had been shifted to two 11-foot lanes in June to allow bridge and median barrier work as part of a $12.16 million highway upgrade between Ridge Road and I-79. A majority of the project will be completed by the end of the year.
  • Haymaker Road – There will be lane and shoulder restrictions between Business Route 22 and Old William Penn Highway from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Monday and lasting until late September. Crews will replace concrete curbs. Flaggers will help to control traffic during the work.
  • Parkway East – The inbound ramp from the Parkway East to the Boulevard of the Allies will close from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday while crews remove a temporary barrier. Detours will be posted. The work is part of $35.4 million project to upgrade a series of ramps and bridges between the boulevard and the interstate highway.
