The fifth week of the Post-Gazette newspaper workers’ strike was an eventful one.

The Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh met with the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Monday in the guild’s first bargaining session with the paper since 2020. A second bargaining session was held Thursday. Guild members said the Post-Gazette failed to bargain in good faith in both sessions. The parties will meet for a third bargaining session Dec. 6.

In response to bad faith bargaining by the Post-Gazette, guild members and supporters rallied for a fair contract outside of publisher John Robinson Block’s wedding reception at the Duquesne Club, Downtown, on Saturday.
