The Exxon Stop & Shop convenience store on Ardmore Boulevard in Forest Hills was shut down by the Allegheny Health Department on Friday because of a sewage backup in the restrooms and utensil washing area.

The facility also was cited for cleaning and sanitization problems, inadequate handwashing facilities and lack of a probe thermometer, according to an inspection report.

The store has since reopened, according to an employee answering the phone Monday afternoon.

The operator of the business could not immediately be reached for comment.

Inspection reports for food facilities in the county are available at eapps.alleghenycounty.us/restaurant/.
