U.S. Rep. Summer Lee, a Democrat who represents Pennsylvania’s 12th District, announced the opening of her first brick-and-mortar constituent service center in East Liberty on Friday afternoon. People can come to the office at 211 North Whitfield St. for help with federal services such as medicaid, immigration and passport services, but Lee said staff members will also help with other needs.

“We want to be able to say ‘yes,’” Lee said, and offer assistance to elderly people who are filling out bank forms, for example, or students filing paperwork for student loan forgiveness.

“If we don’t have the precise answer … we’ll get you connected to that answer,” Lee said. “We’re going to make sure we get people the help they need.”
