A developer with ties to Pittsburgh’s housing authority owes about $80,000 in back taxes and liens, according to city and county records reviewed by the Union Progress.

KBK Enterprises and other related firms — run by housing developer Keith B. Key, based in Columbus, Ohio — owe $43,861.12 in taxes and interest to the city of Pittsburgh on 34 of their 35 properties. They’ve tallied $32,384.69 in taxes and interest to Allegheny County across 22 properties.

There are also three liens, one for about $600 and two others for just under $2,000 each, against properties in Larimer. The two larger liens were filed by the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority for delinquent sewer/water rates.

KBK Enterprises did not respond to requests for comment.

The firm has received tens of millions of dollars in recent years from the city’s housing authority and Urban Redevelopment Authority, including for redevelopment projects in the Hill District and Garfield.
