The last Open Streets event in Pittsburgh this year will feature two different neighborhoods, Bloomfield and Oakland.

The event, coordinated by Bike Pittsburgh, features main streets closed to vehicular traffic so participants can walk, bike, take classes and shop on mostly empty neighborhood streets from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. The course runs from Liberty Avenue near the Bloomfield Bridge to South Millvale Avenue, Centre Avenue, North Craig Street and Forbes Avenue in Oakland.

The event will feature pop-up activities such as free exercise classes by the YMCA, cheerleading and stilt-walking demonstrations, and street art. In Oakland, Forbes Avenue near Bigelow Boulevard on the University of Pittsburgh campus is a central location for events with a hub for Oakland arts and culture on one side and a family and kids hub on the other side.

Here is the full schedule of events.

And Mother Nature is scheduled to take a break from the outdoor furnace of the past few days with the National Weather Service calling for sunny skies and a high of about 80.
