Donald Block, who is part of the family that owns the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and Block Communications Inc., continues to avoid talking with workers who’ve been on an unfair labor practices strike at the PG for 18 months and counting.

The strikers, who’ve done everything from knock on the door of his Fox Chapel home to send him a registered letter he didn’t sign for, on Sunday thoughtfully placed a Pittsburgh parking chair at the spot where he usually parks to attend St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Wilkinsburg. Block wouldn’t speak to workers the previous Sunday. Inexplicably, this Sunday, Block parked on a different street.

The strikers moved the chair, which, by later in the day, like Block, had disappeared.

The strikers are asking members of that church and other area Episcopal churches to encourage Block to follow Episcopal teachings and take the concerns of workers to his family members.

Other like-minded people are welcome to send church leaders a letter here.
