The last team to hand Blackhawk a section loss had an opportunity to end the Cougars’ long section win streak Thursday.

But, as usual, Blackhawk added another check in the win column.

Aubree Hupp scored 19 points, and Blackhawk ran its section win streak to 41 games, beating visiting Beaver, 52-31, in Class 4A Section 2.

It was the fifth win in a row overall for Blackhawk (12-2, 6-0), which is trying to go unbeaten in section play for the fourth year in a row. The Cougars’ last section loss came to Beaver, 34-32, on Feb. 22, 2021. Beaver (11-3, 5-2) had its eight-game win streak snapped. The Bobcats had not lost since losing, 59-44, to Blackhawk on Dec. 12.

Blackhawk led, 25-15, at the half before busting open the game in the third quarter, outscoring Beaver, 16-7, to go up 19 points. Beaver was limited to single digits in every quarter in its lowest-scoring game of the season.

Grace Huston added 11 points for defending PIAA Class 4A champion Blackhawk, while Emerson Connelly led Beaver with 11.
