Due to inclement weather, the WPIAL Class 4A, Class 5A and Class 6A softball championship games scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed.

Originally scheduled to begin Wednesday afternoon with a trio of contests at PennWest California University’s Lilley Field, all six 2025 WPIAL softball championship games will now take place Thursday across three different sites. Lilley Field will still play host to a championship tripleheader, with a doubleheader taking place at North Allegheny and the Class 6A championship up for grabs at Norwin.

With rain falling all morning, the start times for Wednesday’s championship games were initially pushed back by about two hours before the league eventually decided to postpone the games to Thursday.

Thursday’s championship slate at Lilley Field will remain the same, with South Park starting things off against Mohawk in the Class 3A title game at noon, then Neshannock squaring off against Chartiers-Houston in the Class 2A final at 2:15 p.m., followed by Union colliding with Carmichaels for the Class 1A crown at 4:30 p.m.

As for the Class 6A title game, Hempfield and Seneca Valley will now meet at Norwin at 11 a.m. Thursday, with the Class 4A title game between Hampton and Blackhawk taking place simultaneously at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Allegheny. The Class 5A final between Penn-Trafford and Shaler has also been moved to North Allegheny and is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
