It will be a little more difficult than usual to get from Penn Hills to Monroeville for the next few days.
That’s because ramps to and from Penn Hills and the part of Rodi Road to Business Route 22 and part of the outbound Parkway East will be restricted for paving.
Work on the ramps will close them from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday and from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday. That will mean motorists will not be able to go from Rodi Road onto the outbound Parkway East or get off the outbound Parkway East onto Rodi Road during those times.
The section of Rodi Road from Maple Lane to Business Route 22 will have flaggers directing traffic from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
On the Parkway East, the outbound highway will have one lane closed from the Business Route 22 exit to about 1 mile past the Penn Hills exit.
Detours will be posted for all of the work.
The restrictions will allow crews from Swank Construction Co. to mill and pave the road surface in those areas.
The work is part of the $70.1 million project to improve the highway between the Churchill and Monroeville exits over the next few years.
