If mother nature cooperates, this will be a big weekend for paving on two major roads. Here’s where you’ll see the orange barrels:
- Parkway East – The highway will be reduced to one outbound lane between the crossover above Old William Penn Highway in Monroeville and the Pennsylvania Turnpike from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday while crews mill and pave the roadway. The work is part of the $70.1 million project to improve the highway between Churchill and the turnpike.
- Parkway West – Overnight restrictions will be in place this weekend and early next week for paving in Collier and Robinson. There will be outbound restrictions from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday nights between Interstate 79 and the Campbells Run Road off-ramp. The same area also will have lane restrictions for paving from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Wednesday. During all of this work, the outbound off-ramp to Campbells Run Road will be closed. A $12.6 million project is improving the highway between I-79 and the Ridge Road interchange.
- Arlington Avenue, Nobles Lane – Portions of the streets in Pittsburgh’s Mount Washington neighborhood will be closed from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday to remove vegetation that is blocking views for drivers and pedestrians. Arlington will be closed from Warrington to McArdle Roadway and Nobles will be closed from Brownsville Road to Corlain Street. Flaggers will maintain traffic flow and allow continued access for traffic and Pittsburgh Regional Transit vehicles along Arlington Avenue.
- First Street Bridge – Inspection of the bridge over Route 65 in Leetsdale will result in single-lane restrictions on Cross and Broad streets from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
