Not a lot of unexpected roadwork scheduled this weekend, unless it’s occurring where you need to go. Here’s what to watch for:
- Parkway West 1 – The inbound highway will have a single-lane restriction from 7 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Robinson while crews repair the deck on a bridge over Campbells Run Road. The restriction will be between the Interstate 79 interchange and the on-ramp from I-79 north. The work is part of the $15 million project to improve the highway between the Parkway West Airport/Pittsburgh interchange and about a half mile north of the Route 60 Moon Run/Crafton interchange.
- Parkway West 2 – The ramp from the inbound highway to northbound Interstate 79 in Collier and Robinson will close overnight Friday and again for six days beginning Sunday while crews install an anti-icing system. The ramp will be closed from 6 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday. Then it will close again from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sunday through Thursday and 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. next Friday. Detours will be posted. It’s part of a project to improve the highway between Ridge Road and I-79.
- Interstate 79 – The southbound side of the highway will be reduced to a single lane of traffic from Mingo Road in Marshall to the split with Interstate 279 from 7 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday while crews conduct paving on the temporary off-ramp to Route 910. Northbound traffic will have one lane closed in the same area for the same hours. The work is part of the $46.5 million project to revamp the interchange at Route 910 by moving the northbound exit ramp 1,000 feet west so it is adjacent to the southbound ramps, easing traffic congestion on Route 910.
- Parkway East – Crews will inspect two ramps on the highway Sunday and Monday nights, resulting in traffic shifts from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. to allow the work. The ramp from the Boulevard of the Allies to the outbound highway is scheduled for Sunday night and the ramp from the highway to the Forbes Avenue/Oakland exit is set for Monday. The ramps will remain open during the inspection.
- Route 88 – Paving work will result in single-lane alternating traffic from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday from the Washington County line to Corrigan Drive in South Park Township.
