The usual suspects — Interstate 79, Route 28, the Parkway West, Boulevard of the Allies and Fort Duquesne Bridge — all will have extra road restrictions this week. Here are the details:

  • Interstate 79 — The northbound ramp to the highway from Grandview Avenue in Neville will close for two weeks beginning 5 a.m. Monday. During the closure, crews will repair the deck of the ramp. The work is scheduled to last until 6 a.m. Nov. 23. Detours will be posted. The work is part of the $43.9 million project to upgrade the area of I-79 known as the “S bend” in Kennedy, Robinson, Neville and Glenfield.
  • Route 28 1 — Crews will continue conduit and sign installation work for the system to warn wrong-way drivers, this week concentrating on the southbound part of the highway at Anderson Street on Pittsburgh’s North Side and the off-ramp to Interstate 279 north/East Ohio Street. The ramps at those locations will have single-lane and shoulder restrictions from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. The $4.8 million system between Anderson Street and Harmar is expected to open early next year.
  • Route 28 2 — There will be rolling closures in both directions with traffic stops of 15 minutes or less between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday between the RIDC Park and Harmar/Pennsylvania Turnpike/Route 910 interchanges. During the restrictions, Duquesne Light Co. and West Penn Power Co. will be taking down overhead power lines.
  • Parkway West — The ramps from northbound Interstate 79 to outbound Parkway West and from southbound I-79 to inbound Parkway West will have traffic shifts and shoulder closures from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday night this week. The restrictions will allow crews to install delineators on the ramps to help guide traffic. The ramps will remain open during the work, which is part of the $12.6 million improvement project between Ridge Road and I-79 interchanges in Robinson and Collier.
  • Boulevard of the Allies — There will be a lane restriction inbound between Van Braam and Marion streets in Pittsburgh’s Uptown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. beginning Monday and lasting until mid-December. Crews will be doing sidewalk work on Marion Street.
  • Fort Duquesne Bridge — The ramps from southbound Route 65 and southbound Interstate 279 to the Fort Duquesne Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday this week while crews continue bridge deck and barrier repairs. The Allegheny Avenue/Ridge Avenue/Reedsdale Street ramps to the bridge also will be closed for work that is part of a $3.9 million improvement project.
